Hi, there 🖐 We are software fresher engineers from atWare Vietnam.
As you know, our company’s vision is “Empower client’s business with Agile”. With an Agile mindset and Scrum framework, we want to empower our customers and ourselves together. Therefore, we always make efforts to improve our technology and enhance our knowledge of Agile. With support from the company, on October 12th, we attended the biggest and most prestigious annual event of the Vietnam Agile community - Agile Vietnam Conference 2022 in Hanoi. We were extremely happy because it’s such a good opportunity for us to meet excellent people, expand our connections as well as improve our Agile mindset.
Introduction to Agile Vietnam Conference
The conference has 8 sessions, 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. Each session has 3 speeches that are held concurrently and last exactly 30 minutes. We can choose one of three rooms to attend and listen to speakers sharing their Agile best practices and experience.
What did we get from the conference?
The conference was truly inspiring and eye-opening for us. We had the opportunity to gain knowledge from knowledgeable speakers, experienced Agile practitioners, and coaches from lots of companies. We realized Agile is not only used in software development, but also in other industries like banking and manufacturing. It was a great way for us to get to know the different organizations and their working culture. We got to know their challenges, successes, and strategies for Agile transformation from prominent domestic companies such as Techcombank and Vinova Group, as well as experienced Agile coaches from abroad. We now understand Agile transformation is a long journey, and it starts with high-level managers. To convince them, we need to show the advantages of Agile and train them on the Agile mindset and development process. The next step is to train lower-level managers and practitioners.
Speeches at the conference cover a vast array of topics, from the vision of business leaders and managers to the latest industry trends and best practices. This can be a daunting prospect for newcomers like us, who may not have the necessary knowledge or experience to fully grasp the material. Despite this, it is important to take the time to listen and learn, as these speeches offer valuable insight and guidance that can help us better understand our current roles and how we can best contribute to the organization. One of the most intriguing speeches for us was "Introduction of Modern Offshore Development" by Mr. Arata Fujimura. It provided us with an insight into the world of offshore development which is , its advantages and challenges. We learned about the importance of having a clear understanding of the customer's needs, the importance of communication and collaboration, and the need for a well-defined process. Our company is running this model so we found it really familiar and straightforward. The way he presented was also fascinated and friendly, like our boss, Mr. Takashi Makino. At the end of the speech, we had the chance to talk with him, exchanging ideas and perspectives and getting a better understanding of the issues discussed.
In conclude, the Agile Vietnam Conference was an incredible learning experience for us. We were able to gain valuable knowledge, learn from experienced professionals, and build relationships with people sharing the same interests.
